What are the charges/penalties like for Braking and Entering in Canada?

That does play a role all what you say but will the judge believe you? Will you be prosecuted that is the big question. that you were drunk shoudn't play a role that is YOU got drunk nobody forced you to. In my opinion you should get a fine or a suspended sentence.
